John Sadowski

John Michael Sadowski grew up in Lachine, Quebec, just outside the soulful city of Montreal. The Saint Lawrence River was his private skating paradise until his family moved to Ontario when he was a teenager.

At 14 John got a paper route and saved enough money for his first crasher drum kit. At 15 his father demanded he sell his drums or he would never help buy him a car the next year when he graduated. John reluctantly sold his drums, bought a rusted car for $100.00 with some friends, and planted it in a back yard to appease his father's orders. He then resaved and bought a new drum kit. His message was clear. He wanted to be a musician more than anything.

John has been faithful to his dreams for over 4 decades and is immersed in his music with more passion and tenacity than ever. A versatile, powerful showman with strong talent and charismatic stage presence, his persona is one which people of all ages easily resonate toward. His musical interests include Fusion, Jazz, Latin, Rock, hand drumming, guitar and keyboard, composing and studio work. He has worked with, schmoozed with, studied with, and just plain studied, professionals such as world renown hand drummer Glen Velez, drummer Virgil Donati, Kenny Aronoff, and entertainer Dom Famularo, master teachers Dick Cully, and Jim Blackley, Aldo Mazza of the infamous Kosa Program, Giovanni Hildalgo, Horacio Hernandez, Walfredo Reyes Jr., Rick Latham, Joe Morello, Pat Petrillo, Dave Weckl and David Garabaldi to name a few. John is self taught and fluent in reading all styles of musical 'genre'.

John presently lives in Ontario with his wife Summer, his ultra cool black cats Jazz & Merlin, a very musical turtle named MoJo and his huge ever growing family of drums, percussion, and studio instruments. His present project is building a private studio on the grounds since there is no more room in the house for drums.

You may contact John by email, phone, or drop by the Studio for a coffee.
